How we review

What our reviews and signals are based on, what they are not, and how we keep commercial interests out of them.

Our own data: prices, every day

The part of Camera Kings nobody else has is the price record. Once a day we capture the lowest price for every product across every retailer we track, and we have kept doing so since 30 August 2026 — 28 days and 3,774 daily price points so far. Every price chart, every “lowest we have seen” and every buy-or-wait signal on this site comes from that record and nothing else.

How our reviews are written

Our reviews are research-based. We have not physically tested every camera we write about, and we do not pretend to. Each review is built from:

• the manufacturer’s published specifications, checked against more than one source;
• the retailers’ own product data, including what comes in each bundle;
• our daily price history for that product and its rivals;
• how the camera compares with the alternatives we track, on the specifications that actually change results — sensor size, stabilisation, waterproofing, battery and price.

Where a review states a limitation — no in-body stabilisation, a fixed battery, a small sensor — it is because that is a documented fact about the product, not a guess. Where retailer listings contradict each other, we say so rather than choose one. When we do get hands-on time with a product, the review will say so explicitly.

Specifications

The specification tables and comparison pages use values we maintain by hand. If we have not verified a figure, the table shows a dash rather than a number copied from a feed — a gap is more honest than a guess.

Money and independence

We earn a commission when you buy through our links. That never changes the price you pay and never changes our verdicts:

• Retailers are listed cheapest first, always. Nobody can pay to move up.
• The buy-or-wait signal is calculated from prices alone. A “Wait” costs us a sale today, and we show it anyway.
• We list products whether or not they earn us anything.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake — a wrong specification, an out-of-date claim, a price that does not match the retailer — email hello@camerakings.co.uk. We correct errors promptly and update the review’s date when we do.
