£3.99 delivery · You buy directly from JD Williams

Still the best pocket vlogging camera you can buy, and the one to beat. The combination of a large sensor and a mechanical gimbal produces footage no phone matches, and the rotating screen removes the last excuse for badly framed vertical video.

Our take

DJI Osmo Pocket 3 review: the vlogging camera that made everything else look complicated

A 1-inch sensor, a proper mechanical gimbal and a screen that flips to vertical. The Osmo Pocket 3 is the easiest recommendation in vlogging — here is why, and what it costs in the UK today.

What we like

  • 1-inch sensor delivers genuinely good low-light footage
  • Three-axis mechanical gimbal — smoother than any software can manage
  • Rotating 2-inch screen switches horizontal to vertical instantly
  • Fast, reliable full-pixel autofocus that holds your face

What to watch

  • Gimbal is exposed and needs care in a bag
  • Battery life is adequate rather than generous
  • No weather sealing to speak of
  • Creator Combo costs noticeably more

Quick answers

Is the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 better than a phone for vlogging?

For moving footage, comfortably. A phone stabilises electronically by cropping and warping the image; the Pocket 3 uses a real motorised gimbal, so the horizon stays level and walking shots stop looking like walking shots. The 1-inch sensor also holds up far better indoors and at dusk.

Does the Osmo Pocket 3 shoot vertical video?

Yes, and it is the neatest implementation on the market — rotate the screen and the camera switches to vertical. No cropping, no lost resolution, no reframing afterwards.

What is the difference between the standard and Creator Combo?

The Creator Combo adds the DJI Mic 2 transmitter, a battery handle and a mini tripod. If you record yourself talking, that wireless mic is the single biggest quality upgrade available — better audio improves perceived quality more than any sensor. If you shoot silent B-roll, save the money.
