The most sensibly designed action camera on sale. Internal storage sounds like a gimmick until the day it saves a shoot, and 20m waterproofing makes it the obvious pick for anything involving water.

Our take
DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro review: 47GB built in and 20m waterproofing
Internal storage, twin OLED screens and the deepest waterproof rating in the category. The Osmo Action 5 Pro fixes the small irritations that action cameras have always had.
What we like
- 47GB of internal storage — shoot even if you forget a card
- Waterproof to 20m without a housing
- Two OLED touchscreens, bright and easy to read outdoors
- Strong battery life and fast charging
What to watch
- No variable aperture like the Action 6
- Accessory range smaller than GoPro’s
- Internal storage still needs offloading regularly
- Colour science divides opinion against GoPro
Quick answers
Does the Osmo Action 5 Pro have internal storage?
Yes, 47GB of it. That is roughly an hour of 4K footage with no memory card fitted at all — a genuine rescue when a card fails, fills or gets left in a laptop at home.
How waterproof is it?
20m without a housing, the deepest in the mainstream action camera category. That covers snorkelling and shallow diving with no extra kit.
Why OLED screens?
Brightness and contrast. Action cameras are used outdoors in direct sun, which is where ordinary LCDs wash out. Both the front and rear screens here stay readable, which matters when you are framing at arm’s length.
